June 2020-Best Beach House EVER!-Our family of 5 (three generations) had the privilege of staying at Tony’s beach house for 5 nights and we had a fabulous time. The house and furnishings were the perfect combination of high end and comfort. The beds were very comfortable and so was the couch. Nothing compares to the amazing view and the patio right above the water. We had so much fun in the ocean everyday and were thankful for the chairs and beach accessories that were available for use. The kitchen is very well stocked and the treats upon arrival brought us all joy! Tony was an amazing and responsive host in every way, one of the best we have encountered! We hope to be back again!
Stayed Aug 2019—The property was exactly as described, with all the trimmings. The kids had more to do with the supply of boards, bikes, ping pong, etc. than time. Easy living. Great owner; easy to deal with. You feel he really is invested in us having a good time. Worth every penny.

Too Short but Very Sweet-Stayed Jul 2019-Darlene M. Phoenix-There isn’t anything we didn’t like about this property. We are a 4 generation family that wanted to run away from the AZ heat for a few days. The house is situated in a surprisingly quiet neighborhood. You will hear the trains but our family loved it, especially the 9 year olds who could see them from the upstairs second bedroom window. The home is nicely appointed, very spacious and comfortable. We found the kitchen well equipped and the extra “touches” provided by the hosts were appreciated. The beds were comfortable, including the bunks. It is the beachfront view, the outside patio area and the stone’s throw access to the sand and water that tell this story, though. Whether you just want to sit and enjoy the view from the inside or out, or play in the sand, or boogie on a board, or catch a wave (and/or a fish!), everything and anything you need is at your fingertips. Save for one night to the Oceanside harbor for dinner and a couple of trips to the grocery store, we never left the place.
Great location right on the beach-Stayed Jun 2019-Amanda M.-This is a beautiful home, located right on the beach so its easy access to run in and out of the house and down to the sand. 🙂 The house was very spacious, the host is very responsive and friendly. All bedrooms are upstairs so that was the only challenge we had with my older mother in law getting up and down and our kids, but they do have kid friendly gates to help keep the kids from playing on the stairs if you need. Overall a great experience.

Beautiful house and views!-Stayed May 2019-Janice O.-Fantastic house with beautiful views. Is was so nice to have a Welcome assortment of snacks and drinks provided by Tony. The house was also stocked with spices, condiments, dish detergent, dish washer tabs, and clothes detergent. The dishes, glasses, silverware, and towels were all so nice – felt like visiting family vs a rental. Vacationing with toddler grandkids was easy in this house. Tony provides toys for all ages, great little sand box for kids to play in next to the back patio. The views from the downstairs living area were so beautiful. The master bedroom is awesome and the grandkids loved taking their baths in the master tub. The kids bunk beds were great and the third bedroom had nice views too. We were able to take walks on the beach during low tide even though it is a rocky beach. Many others were swimming or surfing. There is a nice kids park ( for 2 to 5 yr olds) within a 5 minute walk. Since Tony also provides a twin stroller we took a walk to the pier – about 35 min away (1.5 miles) for some ice cream. Tony was fantastic to deal with / the best for communicating with any questions. Loved the location of the house / so much better than on the strand where it is so much busier and less private. There is an empty lot to the left of the house so we had great views from that side of the house as well. We looked at many houses to rent and are so happy that we rented Tony’s.
Perfect Beach House Experience-Apr 2019-Ruth T.Rio Rancho, NM-We are still telling everyone who asks about our stay that we were AMAZED with this house. We have never stayed in a VRBO that had this many amenities! We usually try to find missing items (4 regular vacation renters) but this one stumped us. The ONLY complaint was one pair of dull scissors but there were other pairs
�. Tony and Kim have thought of EVERYTHING a renter might POSSIBLY want during a stay. We even saw a whale and a few pods of dolphins during the week while we sat on the back deck. We had a problem with the outdoor grill but that happens at our own homes. Tony apologizes and I’m sure by now it’s fixed. His recommendations were all right on. He even had specific maps marking all the places we might consider.

An ocean lover’s dream-Stayed Feb 2018-Cathryn S.Anchorage, AK-“The best master bedroom in the world” said my mother. The ocean view from sitting in bed is 180 degrees with waves crashing, surfers surfing and dolphins jumping. The best activity was just staying at this lovely home and watching the ocean and the sunsets. Our host was very helpful and I would definitely come back to this rental for another vacation.
Great location!!!-Stayed Sep 2017-chris l.-What a great vacation rental. If you’re looking for a awesome location in the north county area of San Diego this is the spot. This house is on the water and we had dinner on the patio most nights while enjoying the beautiful sunsets. The house has all of the amenities you’d expect in your own home yet alone a rental home. Tony was there to answer any questions we had. We had a problem with the awning operating and he was there immediately to fix the situation. I would recommend this rental to anyone and I will be staying here again in the future.
Wow 5 Stars Easy-Stayed Sep 2016-Scott S.-This house is just as described. Big beautiful and clean, clean, clean. In our first walk thru of the house each room was not only clean but smelt clean. Even the windows which easily get messed up on beach front properties were spotless! In the house were all the amenities you would want for a fun stay on the beach. Water toys, sand toys, beach chairs, games, ping pong, a great very clean Weber BBQ, 2 wireless signals, flat screen TV’s, blue tooth stereo and a very well stocked kitchen with a huge fridge. I mean what VRBO have you rented that even had a salad spinner, seriously this place is stocked with everything you need. The furniture was very good, not beat up rental stuff but very nice furniture. The house in general is very well decorated and makes you feel right at home, if home is “a luxury beach house.” We will definitely be looking to rent here again.
Our Host Made the Difference-Stayed Apr 2016-Jon B.-We’ve all but given up on staying in hotels to opt for vacation rentals…in London, Paris and the Sonoma Coast. What we’ve learned is that our host sets the tone of our visit, and owner Tony is the perfect example. Every detail of our stay on Buccaneer Beach was tended to, so much so that I can’t list them all here.
So let me say that the focus of our stay was on fun and relaxation. To be sure we had fun, Tony has provided all kinds of toys…surf boards, boogie boards, paddle boards, beach cruiser bikes…you name it! He also has a ping pong table and board games and sand castle building tools. The garage is full of all these things that make your stay entertaining and FUN!
Then there’s the relaxation of living on the beach…watching the sun rise and set with panoramic windows that bring the ocean right to your feet. The kitchen was stocked with snacks and drinks, and Tony even brought by a bowl of juicy oranges from his tree at home. We just opened the doors and let the sound of the surf flood the house.
All the creature comforts are provided including movies and premium channels on the giant HDTV. We loved the incredible wrap-around ocean view from the master suite and lounging on the deck to watch the surfers. There’s even a playful resident ground squirrel to entertain you!
Be sure to walk down the beach to The Buccaneer Café, and enjoy a ginormous breakfast burrito. For dinner Tony recommended the 333 Pacific restaurant at Oceanside Pier where the seafood was excellent. He made us feel welcome, and Tony’s hospitality is what makes the difference at this beautiful home.

Awesome home with incredible views!-Stayed Mar 2016-Shamarie S.-This home was perfect for our family! The views are absolutely stunning and Tony, the owner, was fantastic! We are a family of eight. 6 kids under the age of 9. The kids LOVED the bunk beds, private beachfront, body boards, and beach toys! We enjoyed the ocean view, especially watching the professional surfers ride the waves. There were beach bikes, surf boards, body boards, a ping pong table, and many board games and movies. We rented wet suits from a cute shop around the corner that Tony recommended to us! There is also a very cute coffee/ surf grill shack about 1 block away where we enjoyed yummy snacks and coffee! Tony was so great to have lots of snacks, and beverages when we first arrived. The kitchen was great and had everything we could imagine. We will definitely be coming back and would recommend this property without hesitation. Thank you Tony!

Wonderful Beach House-Stayed Feb 2016-Samantha T.-This was the most amazing house! The space was amazing – great views from the kitchen, living area and master bedroom, spacious bathrooms and a great patio / outdoor area. Mr. Ditty went out of his way to make us feel comfortable, with snacks waiting for us on the counter when we arrived – the perfect treat after the flight and drive from the airport. We took advantage of the beach toys and had a blast in the waves crashing right in front of the house. There is plenty to walk to and see – we enjoyed a jog down to the pier and a walk to a cafe for lunch. You literally couldn’t ask for a more perfect beach property. I would recommend this property to any group – from traveling families to girlfriends looking for a getaway – we want to come back every year! I
WOW. Perfect for Family Hangin, Perfect for Beach Playin’-Stayed Sep 2015-B R.-This house is great in so many ways! It has an open floor plan so everyone can be together in the combined kitchen, dining and family rooms. Tall ceilings and modern kitchen take it to the next level as well as the floor to ceiling windows overlooking the ocean-so comfortable, so beautiful. This space flows right out to the private patio/hangout space with ample dining and lounging furniture. This outdoor space is a great semi-private beach hangout where family can sunbathe, eat, play in the sand and just steps from swimming. The bedrooms are upstairs and set back from the common space which meant that when folks in our party wanted to nap or babies had to go to bed early the rest of our party did not disturb them. Beyond having a perfect layout with spectacular views, the house is equipped with so many toys for people of all sizes. Boogie boards, surfboards, paddle board, games, sand castle making toys, etc., etc. (Last time we came to Oceanside we had to rent or bring all this stuff but the owners here make relaxing and playing easy.) In addition to great space, ample amenities, the owners are responsive and helpful and made our stay even more relaxing then it already was. We will definitely book here again.
Everything you are looking for in a beach rental!-Stayed Apr 2015-Mike T.-My wife and I live locally but we had her whole family (parents, siblings, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents) coming into town for a get together last month. We ended up renting a number of houses in the Carlsbad/Oceanside area for the various families. This was the house we all ended up hanging out at each day. The supply of beach toys and equipment, the access to the sand, the ability for the older generation to sit comfortably up at the house and watch the kids (the literal young ones and the young at heart) play on the beach and in the ocean was an ideal fit for what we needed. The house was perfectly kept and Tony couldn’t have been nicer to work with. Everyone, from the oldest grandparent to the youngest baby, was comfortable and had a great time. We tried to book it again in July for when the other half of the family (my side) comes to town, but unfortunately, it was already booked (not surprising as it is an awesome house).
Absolutely perfect!-Stayed Apr 2015-Joe M.-You can not get any closer to the ocean unless you are in the water! And the sunsets do not get any better, we made sure to make it to the patio deck every night for this sight that must be seen to be believed.
This beautiful home is clean and has everything you could possibly want….for the outside you got surfboards, kayaks, fishing poles, beach cruisers and more. For the inside, the owner has taken many efforts to ensure you have a home as you would like to find it…well stocked and thought out with many small details like the large soft warm blankets perfect for wrapping yourself in while watching those gorgeous sunsets.
I could go on and on with how great this place is and how well the owner delivered on every expectation. Hope to get back soon!
Perfect Oceanfront home!-Stayed Mar 2015-LeeAnn T.-We loved staying at this property for Spring Break. The location was perfect and away from the busy beach to the north. The home was immaculate and had every amenity you could desire. The kitchen was stocked with refreshments when we arrived which was very thoughtful and contained everything you needed to make some great dinners. There is also plenty of great dining nearby.We were able to easily catch a high speed train to LA to enjoy Disneyland and drive to San Diego to visit SeaWorld and the Zoo. It was great to come home after a day out and enjoy the ocean and sunsets in the evening. The boogies boards, surf boards and bikes available made it a very relaxing experience spending the day at the beach. Everyone enjoyed the surfing and boogie boarding. Fantastic beach holiday-Stayed Jul 2014-Esther K.-We are a family from Switzerland and have spent the last week of our California road trip at Tony’s house and absolutely loved it. It was the haven of beach toys and fun action that we had been hoping for without having to pack or move around much.
The house is in excellent condition and in a fantastic location right on a lovely beach! I went for a run every morning, my husband tried the stand-up paddling board which is a challenge in the waves when you come from Swiss lakes… and we went boogie boarding every day! We saw dolphins 4 out of 7 mornings very close to the beach … and of course loved it.
The house is set up very generously and offers all the luxury one can ask for.
The welcome was lovely with so many goodies, soft drinks, wine…. THANKS!
Tony was very responsive to all request and helped us with suggestions on surf lessons, bike rentals and the suggestions on breakfast and dinner places were spot on.
We would come back next summer if there it was not so far away with 9 hr time difference.

Oceanside’s little piece of heaven-Stayed Apr 2014-Conni W.-It’s not often a vacation rental is even more spectacular than the online photos, but this one is. From the moment we walked in, we felt the vacation vibe roll over us. Some of the finest views and a wonderful neighborhood made us wish we lived there The owners are gracious and provided us with welcoming wine and snacks. I write reviews rarely, but this rental exceeded all expectations.
Excellent home on the beach great owner-Stayed Apr 2014-PATRICK S.Cheshire, Ct-A great home in an ideal location to enjoy the ocean and tour greater San Diego. The house is in great shape. You are right on the beach and the surfing, bogey boarding, and swimming are tremendous. We saw dolphins and seals 20 to 40 feet off the shore.
The owner is first class and always available.
I strongly recommend this house. Next time I am going to be in the area I will absolutely stay here again.
Easy to get to Legoland, Sea World, San Diego Zoo, Petco Park and all of downtown San Diego.
There are many restaurants in town and a number of good ones down the street in Carlsbad.
You will enjoy this house.
Terrific So Cal and beach location-Stayed Mar 2014-James H.-I have nothing negative or fleeting to say about this house. If it were mine, this is how I would have it. Three well appointed bedrooms, well stocked kitchen, great living room, and all the beach/water toys you could need. Goodies were left for our arrival, and the owner later helped us out with a recommendation on a fish market. San Diego was a quick drive down the freeway, and everything else was close by. We plan on staying here again.
Light, space, tranquility & convenience.-Stayed Mar 2014-lizzybWellington, Ontario Canada-This home was better than we imagined because of the light, privacy and convenience. It was cosy, clean, fully furnished with everything we needed. It was walking distance to an amazing park of the children, downtown and the pier for Mom’s exercise and off the beaten track enough to feel like an oasis from all the traffic. Early morning walks on the beach were bracing! We just inhaled in the views of the waves, surfers, sunsets and moon over the ocean. It was terrific to be able to park 2 cars in the garage, even though lots of beach toys were provided. We wanted for nothing. The owners even had a generous welcome cocktail bar set up for our arrival, they thought of everything. The owner was just a text away to help with operation of the TV etc. There were great tips for who to call re surfing lessons and restaurants. I certainly would recommend this lovely home to friends. I want to go back, to slow down my soul! Our grown children’s’ families stayed up at North Coast Village & enjoyed the mix of their pool, BBQ, hot tub & our sunsets, beach, BBQ & playground down the road. It gave lots of options (we were 22 in the party). Legoland, Disney, the San Diego Zoo, surf lessons and the USS Midway Naval Museum appealed to different parts of the family, all were nearby easily.
What a beach vacation!-Stayed Feb 2014-Spectacular stand-alone house, right on a beautiful stretch of Oceanside beach, with a vacant lot on one side, giving you a tremendous sense of openness. Beautiful, open space design, with modern kitchen. Master bedroom is very large with incredible views of the beach and ocean. The owner worked very hard to ensure all of our needs were met or exceeded. We would highly recommend this property.
Great Winter Getaway!-Stayed Dec 2013-Diane B.-My family traveled from Colorado, Arizona and Northern California. The house is beautiful. We enjoyed the wonderful kitchen, living room and outdoor space. There is nothing like sitting in the sun on the beach in December! This house is ON the beach. Very family friendly and has everything to make priceless memories. We hope to return soon and often!
nice even in the off season-Stayed Nov 2013-Glenn N.-this was our second visit to Tony’s beach house, and we were once again impressed by the wonderful location. this house is right on the beachfront, with unobstructed views of the ocean.
our first stay was during the labor day weekend. the weather was hot and sunny and it was fun to watch all the people and families enjoy the beach.
this time, we visited in november. the setting is quite different. the weather was still pleasant, a little overcast, but still warm. the place seemed secluded, almost like having a private beach.
we enjoyed our return trip. this house has something to offer in the peak summer season, but also in the quiet fall season. we hope to be lucky enough to return again.
one more important thing…-Glenn N.-One last important factor I forgot to mention in our last review: PARKING. even though you can walk from the house to several restaurants or the pier, should you wish to drive to the store,or take a day trip to a nearby attraction…..NO PROBLEM. there is a 2 car garage. so even if you are sharing the house with another family, there is room to park. even on the most crowded day, you never have to worry about finding a parking spot!
location location location-Stayed Aug 2013-Glenn N.-When considering a vacation rental, you can choose a property with a great ocean view, a property one short block from the beach, or one where you only have to cross the street to reach the beach. but why not stay here, and be RIGHT ON THE BEACH ? This location can’t be beat…oceanfront, right on the beach, walking distance to restaurants and the pier. On top of that it is a private house, not a townhouse or condo.
The place has plenty of room, 3 bedrooms, with enough beds to sleep 8 or 9. The house is clean, with tasteful decor and a fully stocked kitchen. There are two cruiser bikes, a ping pong table, surf boards, board games, dvd’s, everything you could think of for entertainment. Not only that, but Tony and Kim stock the kitchen with complimentary wine, snacks, candy and popcorn.
From the house and the private patio, you can enjoy the views…see the pelicans and seagulls flying by, watch the surfers catching waves, and enjoy the sunsets in the evening. The best feeling is near days end, when you see the people load up all their gear into their cars to leave………you get to walk back to your oceanfront house and stay there!
Our 13 year old said the house was “awesome” and our 16 year old said he “had a blast”. Perhaps these are the highest compliments of all, considering that it takes something special to get them to lift their eyes from their computers and smart phones.
We would recommend this rental to anyone and hope that we will be able to return someday.

Our second year-Stayed Aug 2013-DaveScottsdale Arizona-We just finished our second year staying at this fabulous home in Oceanside. It once again was an amazing place, you couldn’t ask for a better location. Perfect home, perfect beach walking distance to almost everywhere you wanted to go. This year we took it easy stayed at the house all week and it couldn’t have been any better. Train station to go down town is a mile away, down town Carlsbad only a short drive. The home had EVERYTHING you need to have a great stay, even a fantastic bottle of wine on arrival!!

The best vacation rental you’ll ever find!-Stayed Jun 2013-Donna G.-We decided to book this place for a week to celebrate my daughter’s high school graduation. When we walked in, we saw that Tony had decorated for us–strung along the panes of the gigantic glass panel windows facing the ocean was a “CONGRATS GRAD” banner. The kitchen counter was covered in food he’d bought especially for us, from Starbucks ground coffee to popcorn to a gigantic bowl of fresh fruit. Talk about a first impression!
This place is BEAUTIFUL. The huge windows give an actual 180 degree view of the ocean, and the house is literally steps from the water–maybe 50 feet away–so with (or even without) the windows open you can always hear the crashing of the waves. It’s very spacious, and the rooms (especially the master suite with its huge spa bathroom) are all tastefully decorated. Most importantly, the entire place is sparkling clean.
The best part, though, is the outside. The house is situated on a plane elevated 10 feet or so off the beach. It’s easy to get down to the beach from the front of the house, or if you’d rather enjoy the waves while staying out of the sand, the back patio has four wonderful lounge chairs where I spent the entire week reading and sunbathing. You can be on the beach without actually being on the beach.
The house has everything you need already in it, from two cute bikes in the garage (along with surfboards, a kayak, and a ping pong table) to a chest of beach towels in the living room, to new bars of soap in the showers. There’s even a binder with maps to stores and good restaurant recommendations (don’t miss the little cafe a block down the street–great lattes and breakfast burritos!) When we left, my daughter realized she had forgotten her favorite sunglasses in the house–we called Tony and within a week he mailed them to us wrapped in bubble wrap. How nice.
We had the time of our lives staying here and will definitely be back. This place has it all–beautiful and clean home, unbeatable location, and a great homeowner who stocked the house with all the amenities you could possibly need for a week on the beach! This is the best rental we’ve ever stayed in and best beach vacation we’ve ever had! Thanks, Tony!
PERFECT-Stayed Apr 2013-LyndaChicago, IL-This was our first trip to California and this home is in the perfect location. Close to LA and San Diego and everything in between. The home’s layout is perfect and was extremely clean and well cared for. The owner provides lots of little extras that other rentals do not even think about offering their guests. The views are awesome and some days we chose to sit outside the home and watch the dolphins (and we even saw a seal)! If we return to CA, this will be the house we would stay at again. It is wonderful!
Gorgeous view-Stayed Feb 2013-Fred G.-You can pay less money and be 6 blocks or 1 block or even across the street from the beach but hear me when I tell you DON’T do it. This was our first time staying at this type of rental and let me tell you we will never stay at a hotel again. The pure freedom of having space for 6 people and not being on top of each other was worth the price. We were able to sit on the patio and watch the kids on about 60 yards of private beach property, below that where the tide came in and out the beach dropped down a couple of feet and that part of the beach was the public area. We were able to get up early in the morning and watch the sail boats, fishing boats, surfers, people walking, birds and sea life from our patio IN our pajamas eating breakfast we cooked at the house or the breakfast burritos from Buccaneer’s only less than a block away. Your close to EVERYTHING yet this house is so private. The owners have every toy, game, book, surfboard, fishing rods, tackle, grill, food spices, condiments, wine, beer, fruit, candy and if you need it chances are that it is already there at the house ready for your use. I love to grill and to be able to have a grill for use by the beach and drinking a beer for me was priceless. Making memories for the kids was priceless. Taking family pictures with the ocean as a backdrop was priceless. The view was priceless. STAY AT THIS HOME and for you it will be priceless. I’m as cheap as they come and this was well worth the cost and we WILL stay at this home again.
Perfect Vacation-Stayed Feb 2013-What a wonderful family vacation! Wonderful location, fantastic home and an excellent owner to work with. Your comfort and convenience is well considered and the layout of the home is spot on. There is nothing like being directly on the beach and a in luxury home built to maximize the views of the ocean. It is comfortable, classy, private (with ample access to the action), charming and inviting. It is owned and managed by a great family that simply extends their wonderful family haven on to you . We have been fortunate enough to stay at many fine resorts and residences years, and this one does not disappoint in any category.
There is great surf, outstanding shelling, miles of beautiful beach, a great boardwalk and community pier a mile down the stretch. It was great to enjoy the surfers and dolphins on a daily basis – we even had a seal visit on the beach one morning – so cool. We enjoyed the nearby playgrounds, shopping, dining and culture in general. The charm of the neighborhood and local establishments is great – excellent surf shops and a great breakfast/lunch hut just a block South.
We found everything we needed to be comfortable and entertained in the home. A clean private garage with opener, spot on laundry cooking and laundry accommodations, a fantastic master suite and a great room that both have spectacular views. The other two bedrooms are comfortable and spacious as well. The whole place is clean and comfortable. We were captivated. From board games and a ping pong table, to movies and books. From cruiser bicycles to surf and boogie boards, if you get bored here, your not capable of enjoying life…the home simply rules.
From the home base you can conveniently hit Disney, the Zoo, Legoland or Sea World. However, I definitely recommend allowing ample time to enjoy the home and the surrounding area. We will be back to the San Diego area and this will be the first call that I will make when planning the trip. Thank you for allowing us to stay at your beach haven. The quality family time spent there helped to create some of the best memories this life has to offer. Very much appreciated!
Thanksgiving on the Beach-Stayed Nov 2012-I have been renting beach vacation homes for my family in the Newport and Oceanside areas for many years. This stay was the most fun of all. My two sons and their wives along with 3 grandchildren ages 6,2,and 1 joined me for the week of Thanksgiving. The location of this home is outstanding. You have easy and safe access to the beach which has recently been expanded with new sand. The views are fantastic because the home sits on a point with no home to the south. I can’t say enough about the amenities. Everything was provided for your stay. Plenty of dishes, pans, silverware,and towels. Tony even provided a crib and high chair. However, perhaps the most unusual and best thing about this home was the abundance of recreational equipment and toys for everyones use. There were surfboards, boogie boards, and skim boards. There were every kind of ball you would need for games on the beach. There were two great bikes as well as a ping pong table. I have never been in a rental this well equipped. I have great memories of watching my family having so much fun on the beach at Thanksgiving. I would highly recommend this rental for any time of the year.

L’emplacement est réellement sur la plage avec une terrasse privative très bien exposée. La vue de la chambre principale et du salon est exceptionnelle, directement sur l’océan.Nous avons pu observer les dauphins assis dans le canapé ou surfer tôt le matin avant de petit déjeuner!
L’espace intérieur est très agréable à vivre en famille. Nous étions 4 adultes accompagnés de 4 enfants ( de 3 à 11 ans).L’équipement domestique de la maison est irréprochable,très complet et de qualité. Les articles de loisirs sont un plus ( et en très bon état !) : une table de ping pong avec ses raquettes, 2 beach bikes, 2 surf boards.
L’attention charmante des propriétaires est à souligner : lors de notre arrivée, des boissons, du vin à disposition ainsi que des friandises :de quoi oublier le voyage… En outre une parfaite disponibilité du propriétaire pour savoir si nous ne manquions de rien.
en résumé, une très bonne approche de la côte californienne.
Best home on the Beach Oceanside-Stayed Sep 2012-Rich paPennsylvania-This home was everything we hoped it would be and then some. We felt like it was our own home. Tony and Kim have made this rental home almost all inclusive, beside your everyday food needs you will want for nothing. Boggy boards, surf boards, two bikes for your use, beach toys for the kid’s beach towels chair, there are at least eight to 10 chairs on the patio over looking the ocean, all the bath towels, personal soap, tissues, paper towels Coffee pot, coffee, filters and so much more. Even a garage large enough for your suv vehicle.
When we arrived, I couldn’t wait to open the door and see if the pictures we received where real. Let me tell you the pictures don’t do this justice. The house is bright and cheerful the views are fantastic. The sunsets on the ocean are as beautiful as Hawaii. Imagine eating dinner on your own private patio overlooking the beach and the sun setting at the same time, lighting up the horizion.yes picture perfect. After walking the beach and main street I had a chance to check out all the houses 3 miles each way, by far we had the best home on the beach Wow what a find.

Beachfront Getaway-Stayed Sep 2012-Laura E.Tucson, AZ-Our group of 8 (6 adults – ages 33-80 and 2 children ages 6 months and 3 years) searched for a very long time for the perfect beach house getaway. We looked at many different properties (homes and condos) online in Oceanside, Carlsbad and Encinitas. Although this home was one of the most expensive, we are all extremely happy that we chose this property. Here’s why:
- The pictures on the website are extremely accurate. The property is directly above the beach with a small walk down a small incline to the actual beach. There is sand on the property which was perfect for our 3 year old to play in. It was also the perfect place for us to people watch, enjoy drinks and food and suntan without all of the “public” watching you or walking by. Extremely private from the public.
- The home itself is in good condition. I believe that most of the home was recently remodeled as it is very modern and extremely comfortable. The only problem that we had (and this is just our family makeup) was that the 3rd bedroom with the bunk beds did not work out very well because my mother-in-law who is 68 and great-aunt who is 80 had to sleep in there and they were not comfortable. However, this room would be PERFECT for children over 5, teenagers or even 20-30 year olds.
- Amenities – they have everything you could possibly need to enjoy the beach. Towels, umbrellas, bikes boogie boards, surf boards, wet suits (we didn’t use, but we saw them)… the list goes on. It was fabulous.
- Location – aside from being on the beach, the home was close to bucaneer park (about a 5 minute walk) which is perfect for kids and about a 15 minute bike ride to the pier (a bit far to go with young kids). It was also close to the town area where we went to a street fair, farmer’s market, etc. You had to drive though, so that was a bit disappointing as we were hoping to walk a bit more.
Finally – this house met all of our expectations. We have rented 4 houses on VRBO and HomeAway and this is by far the best. You pay for what you get and this was definitely excellent. Also, we saw some of the condos that we were thinking about renting as they were much more affordable. They had no beach access directly from your condo – only a balcony overlooking the beach which may make a huge difference.
One other note – the owner sets up a fabulous welcome that set the tone for a great vacation. The owners definitely pay attention to detail and it makes you want to come back every summer
Just what the doctor ordered!!!-Stayed Sep 2012-Kevin H.-We just returned from spending a week at this amazing beach house. Everything was as stated in the description or better. The homeowner (Tony) was great to work with and made the rental very easy. He went above and beyond by providing on arrival a crib and highchair for our 6 month old. There are too many positive things to list on this review. I have rented beach houses before, and this is by far the best! It is close to all that SoCal has to offer including great surf right out your back door. MAKE SURE YOU GO TO BULL TACO (south west side of Cassidy and Coast Hwy). I would highly recommend this home to any of my friends or family. I hope to stay here again myself. Thanks for the great vacation Tony!
A simply amazing week at the beach-Stayed Aug 2012-This was our first rental and things could not have been better. There were 6 of us and the house accomodated us easily. The beach in front of the house was excellent- great for wading, swimming, & boogey boarding. In addition to spending a lot of time in the water, there was time for reading, barbecuing, & long walks on the beach. Though my sons are all grown (the youngest is 24)- this is an excellent place for families with younger kids also. We ate at the Hon sushi & Beach Break Cafe (their breakfast is awesome!) and had a good dinner at a 50’s theme restaraunt on the pier. We made a short trip to San Diego also. The property is very clean and well maintained. Tony was a great host and answered all our questions prior to arrival. We will definitely return!!
Amazing Oceanside Vacation-Stayed Jul 2012-SmithMount Vernon, IL-AMAZING!! Let me begin by saying that there are many pictures of the house on VRBO and they are good, but, when you walk in and see the walls of glass looking out to the ocean so close… It’s simply stunning! Again, the pictures are good but just how close you are to the ocean an the incredible view will have you proud of yourself for renting this house. We’ve stayed in Oceanside before and this trip we had 2 adults, 3 teenage boys and a 9 yr old. This house is perfect for everyone and we will definitely be back because there isn’t any reason to stay anywhere else because this house has everything! Tony, the owner, made everything thing so easy the week before arrival and communicated perfectly the days leading up to the arrival date. When we arrived and got over the jaw dropping views, we finally saw the welcome note and welcome package that he left, which included chocolates, fruit, champaign, wine and beer, with a nice message. The place has everything you need and includes multiple surf boards, boogie boards, kayak, standing paddle boards, wet suits, two bicycles to cruise to the pier, many-games, sand toys, two fishing poles and gear and a ping pong table! We made several trips to LA being so close and that we are from Illinois and wanted to take in the sights, but I always couldn’t wait to get back to this unbelievable home! The master bedroom has full ocean views and the second bedroom also has great views of the ocean. If you rent this house, you will not be sorry. It’s simply stunning,
Best Beach House!-Stayed Jul 2012-For the second year in a row, our family of four, ventured out to southern California with both sets of our parents. Last year we stayed in another VRBO house in Carlsbad “just steps from the beach.” Although that house was great, my goal this year was to find a house ON the beach. I searched hundreds of VRBO listings all the way from San Diego to LA. Our family has a fondness for the Oceanside area for a few different reasons, so when I found this listing and saw the pictures of this house, right away I could see myself cooking breakfast in that kitchen with the doors open listening to the ocean.
The house was well stocked and the kitchen supplied basic necessities for feeding eight people. My husband took advantage of the beach toys like the boogie board, boat and surf board. They looked fun, but I was fine hanging out with the kids, which brings me to another thing I liked about this house that I didn’t realize until we were there. Not only does it have the private patio, but there is actually enough space on the shore to enjoy playing in the sand. The tide can come in pretty far and for some of the homes that we looked at not even a half mile further north, it came all the way to the rock wall. With children 3 and 7, it was important to be able to dig in the sand and build castles.
The location of the home is great; near most anything you’d want and situated halfway between San Diego and LA if you were wanting to do tourist type stuff like Seaport Village, Balboa Park, San Diego Zoo to the south or Disney, Knott’s Berry Farm to the north. The Coaster station is close to the house. It runs daily into San Diego. We have done the touristy stuff in our past visits to California, so that was not our focus this year; we wanted to take advantage of everyday at the beach and a few local attractions like Oceanside Pier and Sunset Market. You can walk up to Oceanside Pier- 2 miles, but if you do, you can’t walk the entire length of the beach to it, there are spots you have to go up to the street- we found that out the hard way, but it was still an enjoyable walk. We ate at Ruby’s diner at the end of the pier- delicious hamburgers and shakes! Seniors can join their Jitterbug club and get 10% off the entire ticket, so I signed both sets of grandparents up online before we went. We also ate at Beach Break Café and 333 Pacific. Both were excellent experiences and great food. Just down the street from Oceanside Pier is the California Surf Museum
fabulous week-Stayed Jul 2012-DaveScottsdale Arizona-My wife 18 year old daughter and friend and my 23 year old son just had one of the best vacations we had ever had. The pictures and description of this house doesn’t do it any justice!! We were literally 100 yards off the beach. The home had EVERYTHING we needed for the week. Stunning views, the home looked like it was brand new! If you love the beach and hate the sand like my wife and I this is the perfect place!! We have allready booked time for next year and can’t wait.
Exceeded our expectations!-Stayed Jun 2012-Daniel & Jamee M.Las Vegas, Nevada-We were very impressed by both the house and our interactions with the owners. They were very responsive to all of our questions prior to our arrival and offered suggestions of things we might like to do during our stay. The house was very clean and well organized. The furnishings were luxurious and comfortable. The kitchen was modern and fully equipped. The location was amazing. Just steps from the beach. We enjoyed barbequing and dining oceanfront on the patio. The owners provided plenty of beach equipment, including chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards and towels. This home is a five-star stay! We are so happy we chose this home for our California beach vacation.
great week for a family with 7 children (age 1 to 16)-Stayed Jun 2012-marc b.montral, Canada-Great vacation. The house is fully equipped, and really beautiful. Plenty of room for our 7 children and our couple. Tony was extremely kind and available, as we encountered 2 little problems during the week. He was there within 25 minutes, providing all the support one can imagine. The view from the living room and from the master bedroom was breathtaking. I truly hope I’ll get the opportunity in the future to rent again this wonderful place for my family. We all got back home with unforgettable memories.
Family Vacation-Stayed May 2012-The house was very clean and a great location. We had 3 children, 5 and under, and the loved it. It was fully stocked with all the beach stuff you could need. It was an easy walk to the pier and restaurants. The owners were so helpful and really easy to work with. We would highly recommend this home for any family or group to stay.
Fantastic-Stayed Apr 2012-Our family of four (kids aged 5 and 7) had a fantastic time at this property. The house was extremely clean and had all the necessary amenities (kitchen supplies, towels, beach umbrellas, boogie boards, surf boards, fishing poles, etc). We enjoyed the ocean views from living room, patio and master bedroom and having the beach steps away from the house was really easy to keep tabs on our kids. Our kids enjoyed using the boogie boards and ping pong table in the garage at night. Tony was very easy to deal with and answered all of our questions prior to arriving in a very timely manner and even suggested several restaurants in the area. We tried the all you can eat sushi joint (Hon Sushi) and the Beach Break Cafe for breakfast and we enjoyed them both, i’m sure our kids would say the Mickey pancakes at the cafe were the best. We would recommend this property to any of our friends and if we ever return to Oceanside our first call will be to Tony to see if the property is available.
Remarkable Home-Stayed Mar 2012-Benjamin from Heber CityHeber City-This is an amazing home! Tons of windows letting in lots of light and views! We watched dolphins, surfers, birds and even saw a whale! The home had everything we needed including plenty of towels, a well-equipped kitchen, DVDs, board games, surf boards, beach cruisers, and more. Everything was just as described and Tony was great to give us suggestions for dining, shopping and surf lessons. We can’t wait to visit Oceanside again and hope to stay in this wonderful home.
